Relight uses an existing portrait as the starting point for a new image with different lighting. Choose the direction, shadow softness, contrast and colour, then compare the result with your original. Generated details can change, including the face, clothing and background.
How it works
- Open Relight and choose the portrait you want to work on — one of your results, or an upload.
- Choose the light direction and elevation, then adjust shadow softness, contrast and colour.
- Choose Keep scene to retain the setting as a reference, or Dark studio to request a near-black environment.
- Check the credit estimate and generate. Review the new picture against your original before downloading it.
Choosing a light
The lighting previews illustrate possible directions and moods; they are not a promise of how your portrait will look. Start with one direction, then change one control at a time. Auto colour follows the scene; Temperature and Gel let you choose a warmer, cooler or coloured treatment.
What it does not do
- It does not guarantee an unchanged face, pose, outfit or background. Keep scene guides the generation; it is not a pixel-preserving edit.
- It does not fix a portrait whose likeness is already wrong — regenerate that one instead.
- Its lighting controls describe a visual treatment, not calibrated photographic measurements or RAW adjustments.
- It works on one picture at a time.
